World Premiere Musical Revue at ETC in September

News flash announced on Friday evening, Jan. 23, at the “Moveable Feast” at UC’s College-Conservatory of Music: In September, Ensemble Theatre Cincinnati will open its 2026-2027 season with a brand-new musical revue, Corner of the Sky: The Music of Stephen Schwartz. Seven high-energy CCM musical theater students performed a selection of numbers from Godspell and Wicked to piano accompaniment. The show will be produced by Scott Coulter, a CCM musical theater alum (class of 1993), who was honored at CCM’s big annual showcase event as the “Alumni Guest of Honor.” He made the announcement about the ETC premiere from the stage of CCM’s Werner Concert Hall following the students’ spirited performance.

Coulter’s New York career has often involved producing programs drawn from Schwartz’s decades-long career, that includes Godspell, Pippin, The Magic Show, The Baker’s Wife, Working, Rags, Children of Eden, The Prince of Egypt, the recent Queen of Versailles and — of course, the megahit Wicked.

Since this production was was announced at CCM it’s safe to assume that the ETC presentation will feature the eminently talented students from its renowned musical theater program. A statement from ETC states “This electrifying experience invites you to rediscover the music that taught us to dream bigger, feel deeper, and reach higher.”

ETC, which cals itself as a “Cincinnati’s Premiere Theatre,” will announce the balance of its 2026-2027 season in a few months, but this revue is sure to be a blockbuster beginning.

  1. Hi, Rick.
    Thanks for the press!
The students involved in the Moveable Feast presentation were helping us workshop
some of the material. There is no guarantee any will appear in the ETC production. We don’t want to give anyone the wrong information or idea.
    Happy Monday!
    Scott
