The ever adventurous folks at Know Theatre (of course, they are the producers of the eccentric annual Cincinnati Fringe Festival) have lined up an monthlong collection of spooky Halloween material — titled octKNOWber Nights that should please everyone who loves the weird that’s often Know’s stock-in-trade. Here are a few highlights:, but go to the website for more offerings and tickets. https://www.knowtheatre.com/octknowber-2025/

Aleah Vassell’s A SAD VAMPIRE happens on Friday, Oct. 10, one night only. It’s the story of a harmless vampire who spends Halloween in an Applebee’s facing her demons. This will be a staged reading directed by Cincy Shakes Candice Handy.

On Saturday, Oct. 11, the “Anti-Pestilence League” will present A DOUBLE DOES OF DREAD, live performances of two spooky scripts from the Golden Era of radio plays: FUGUE IN C MINOR (originally offered by Suspense) and A MATTER OF PATIENCE (first produced by The Whistler).

On Sunday, Oct. 12, horror will meet humor in CREEPSHOW, five twisted tales brought to life by a killer cast of actors and improvisers. The presenter “Death Defying” calse the evening a live script reading with only a little improvisation.

There are lots more through the end of the month. Two that look exciting to me are SHOW US YOUR WEIRD CABARET – SPOOKY EDITION, presented by Fringe regular Erika MacDonald prominsing 20 unforgettable acts and a costume contest on Wednesday, Oct. 29. then on Thursday, Oct. 30, the Innerspace Collective will present NOSFERATU, employing the 1922 silent film with a live, improvised score.
